Volunteer

York Carnival needs you!

The Carnival team is completely made up of volunteers from the University of York. We’re all excited about the opportunity of staging a really fun event for the city in which we live. Not only do we get the satisfaction of doing constructive work in the community, but each one of us gain new skills from the broad range of tasks we perform.

We are looking for Stewards for the day- helping out with all the practicalities of hosting a festival. If you would be intersted in having a hands-on impact on the Carnival, please email manager@yorkcarnival.org to express your interest.

We are also looking for creative people to run our workshops and enthusiastic individuals to help out at them. Our workshops send volunteers in to local schools and youth groups prior to the Carnival to get the local community involved, for example by making costumes to wear in the parade. If you would be interested in doing this, please contact outreach@yorkcarnival.org

We also still have some positions avaliable on our committee, namely Webmaster, Design Co-ordinator and Technical Co-ordinator. So if you think you could maintain our website, design our programme or organise our sound equipment, get in touch!

Please note that all our volunteers will be CRB checked.
